Given here is a basic method of icing-writing on cakes :
First and foremost one needs to prepare the icing. Most prefer to use butter-cream icing. This is prepared in the following way :

- Solid vegetable shortening
- Butter or margarine
- Vanilla extract
- Sugar
- Milk
- Food color
- Method :
- Mix all the ingredients together in a mixer till it becomes a paste.
- Then put the paste into an icing tube or tip and then gently press the tube as you write over the cake.
